Barb Zimich is bringing back the ever popular Mt. Seymour Hill Climb this year. Scheduled for Sunday August 10 the day after the Escape Velocity Provincial Championship ITT in Squamish.
This event was not on the 2007 calendar but has been run for many years prior to that.
This year it is being billed in the Cycling BC calendar as an ITT, so it may be interesting to see if anyone shows up with the time trial gear. Some of the grades are just low enough that aero gear would be worth while. And being run the day after the ITT in Squamish means everyone should be well warmed up and have their time trial bikes tuned up.
Anyone over thirty can also try this out on May 17 when BCMCA is doing this as a Hill Climb.
Un-official schedule and results for BC Road and Track racing.

Oak Bay Bikes And Wheelers C. C. Present the 2008 midweek 15 km time trial series on a safe, fast, sheltered, undulating out-and back course on Nanaimo River Road, Nanaimo BC.

For anyone who lives in Metro Vancouver, this course is close enough to ride your bike from either Duke Point or Departure Bay. If you contact Peter McCaffery ahead of time he will ensure your starting time is adjusted for expected arrival time.
See BC Ferries for Schedule. It appears that until Jun 24 the 5:00PM from Horseshoe Bay should allow for an arrival at the race course of about 7:15. And the ride from the ferry should get you nicely warmed up.
Escape Velocity Warp Speed TT and WTNC!
Escape Velocity announces Warp Speed TT and WTNC!
Ryan Cousineau's timely report on the nature of time:Next Sunday (May 4) will be a time of trial. To be specific, it's Time Trial time.
Okay, I'll stop now. It's the Warp Speed Time Trial in Abbotsford. Sign-on is day-of only, cheap at $20, and starts at 8 am. First rider goes off at 9:15. Details at the Warp Speed page.
The Tuesday after that (May 6), it's time for the start of the World Tuesday Night Championships. It's the most painful way to spend a half-hour, and the attendance proves you sure like pain!
Please note that this year, we will not be doing Day-Of licenses for any events. Riders interested in a low-cost way to get racing are encouraged to get the new Cycling BC Citizen License.
So, forecast next Sunday: pain, followed by more pain (except in case of rain) on Tuesday. Enjoy!

Race the Ridge - Final results
See here for final results and here for Pedal Magazine report. So the results are in for Race the Ridge ’08. I hope you all had a good time in Maple Ridge and will be back next year. If you have any comments, complaints or compliments (especially the latter) we’d love to here from you.
Also stay tuned, we had a photographer at the course that will be posting pictures. I will be posting a link for him shortly.
Finally a couple notes on results; TT times (definitive time) were used as a tie break for points. If you finished outside the points, your road race place (feature race) was the deciding factor.
