HC on Saturday and Cherry Point RR on Sunday at 11:00 followed by lunch ....
See you at the September 7 finale BCMCA invites you to the season's final race and awards luncheon this Sunday.
But don't forget the hill climb Saturday. It's short and sweet. Oh, and steep! The .6 km event is near Tony Hoar's home in Mill Bay at 3 p.m. There is no event fee to be paid, but you can pick up precious season championship points.
The 65 km road race Sunday is at Cherry Point just southeast of Duncan at 11 a.m. It is a double points event. Lunch (lavish) will be provided free, after the race on Sunday, to all BCMCA full members and volunteers. Others can buy lunch for $25 (plus taxes and tip).
RSVP to Kim Gard. e-mail garddogs@shaw.ca or telephone 250-370-2689.
Annual championship awards will be presented at the luncheon. So if you hold a trophy that is handed on from year to year, please bring it, all shined up, or ship it in advance.
We look forward to seeing you there congratulating the champions (riders and volunteers).
The AGM will be held on September 4 at 7:30 pm. The meeting will be at the Burnaby Lake Sport Complex West 3677 Kensington Ave. Burnaby.
Team Coastal presents CoastalCross...
Google map.Cyclo-Cross Season is soon approaching here in BC and Team Coastal Cycling would like to invite all cyclists from all disciplines of all ages to our 4th annual hosting of Cyclo-Cross in the North Delta Watershed Park on Saturday, September 13th, 2008. It is the first event on the 2008 BC Cross cup Calendar and our club is honored to kick off this year’s cross race season. We are excited to use the same course as last year with some modifications based on feedback from last year's event, which will make the race easier for some and harder for others. Also in an effort to introduce future bike racers to the sport we are hosting free kid's races. We'll be using a modified, shortened, and flat version of the full course for the young racers.
Racers are allowed to use mountain bikes in all categories except for the A group. For kids they can use whatever they have and for the 10 & under group they can have training wheels if necessary.
So get those knobby tires out and come out for some good times on the bike, cross style!

The BCMCA Cedar RR has a new date, now on Sunday Aug 31 at 11:00AM.
For Vancouver riders it appears that the 6:20 from Horseshoe Bay will work well for a Park-n-Ride. It's an easy 35 minute ride to the venue from the ferry terminal.
There is an 8:30 from Horseshoe Bay as well, but assuming a 35 minute commute at the far end that leaves only about 10-20 minutes margin for ferry problems...
