4th Annual Team Coastal Cross - Delta Watershed - Sep 13
Team Coastal presents CoastalCross...
Google map.Cyclo-Cross Season is soon approaching here in BC and Team Coastal Cycling would like to invite all cyclists from all disciplines of all ages to our 4th annual hosting of Cyclo-Cross in the North Delta Watershed Park on Saturday, September 13th, 2008. It is the first event on the 2008 BC Cross cup Calendar and our club is honored to kick off this year’s cross race season. We are excited to use the same course as last year with some modifications based on feedback from last year's event, which will make the race easier for some and harder for others. Also in an effort to introduce future bike racers to the sport we are hosting free kid's races. We'll be using a modified, shortened, and flat version of the full course for the young racers.
Racers are allowed to use mountain bikes in all categories except for the A group. For kids they can use whatever they have and for the 10 & under group they can have training wheels if necessary.
So get those knobby tires out and come out for some good times on the bike, cross style!

BCMCA Cedar RR - Aug 31
The BCMCA Cedar RR has a new date, now on Sunday Aug 31 at 11:00AM.
For Vancouver riders it appears that the 6:20 from Horseshoe Bay will work well for a Park-n-Ride. It's an easy 35 minute ride to the venue from the ferry terminal.
There is an 8:30 from Horseshoe Bay as well, but assuming a 35 minute commute at the far end that leaves only about 10-20 minutes margin for ferry problems...
Sunday, August 17, 2008
BCMCA Abbotsford RR - Aug 23
Vancouver VeloVets, info here.. Starts at 11:00.
This is the same course as used in the Escape Velocity Spring Series...

Tom Binnie Crit Cancelled
Tom Binnie Crit Cancelled
Regrettably Team Coastal?s Tom Binnie Crit which was to be held this weekend is Surrey is canceled due to extremely low registration numbers.
Very few participants had registered by the cutoff - well below the targeted numbers allowing Race Organizers to break even, making it impossible to hold Sunday?s race. It is important that everyone acknowledges the effort and dedication that Race Organizers put into each race on the Calendar, and the decision to cancel this upcoming race was not taken lightly by the organizers.
Newsletters are sent out bi-weekly reminded license holders to register for races - if you are not on the email list to recieve them, please email kelly@cyclingbc.net
Although the Road season is coming to an end, please look ahead to the Cyclocross season, and plan to register well in advance to ensure a full race calendar.
