Fwd: Peak Centre Winter Racing Series is Back!

Hi Guys,

The winter racing series is back!  I've attached the blurb below so forward it to a few buddies and talk it up a little this year!

The Peak Centre Winter Racing Series is back again for its fifth year of competition and fun. The series, which has been expanded to 23 stages, starts on November 1st, 2008 in various centers across Canada.

The 2008-09 series features new courses, the continuation of the sprint and mountain points competitions, as well as national stage rankings and series general classification in Mens A, B and Womens categories. The series will allow riders to race head to head in heats of six with their own bikes on multi-linked computrainers. In Vancouver, heats run on Saturday afternoons and Monday nights.

For those that have never tried CompuTrainer racing, the CompuTrainer adjusts the resistance at your wheel according to the changes in the course and your rider profile so you shift just like you are riding outside. For the number junkies, during the race, each rider's current speed, average speed, current power output, average power output, current place in the heat, distance behind the rider in front, and current watts/kg is displayed. Each course is different except for the time trial course which is repeated 5 times through the series so that you can track improvements in power output and average speed through the series.

Last year, 235 riders competed in the series between Ottawa, Vancouver and Montreal. This year, new riders from Burlington & Sudbury will be taking part.

For more information on heat times or costs, please see our website at http://www.peakcentrevancouver.ca/race_series_2008-09.php

To book your heat time, please call the Peak Centre at 604-299-7959.

Cheers,

Mike
