Peak Winter Racing Series – Stage 18 Results

The 18th and final stage of the Ride with Rendall/ Peak Winter Racing series took place this week in various centres across Canada. Taking his first stage win of the series, Casey Roth averaged 302 watts on his way to a time of 50:25.8. Following in second, were strong showings from Montreal riders, Louis Boileau and Bruno Plafter. Boileau and Plafter both finished with a time of 50:47.5. Boulieau squeaked into second place by a scant 10 milliseconds upon review of the timing file.

The woman’s field did not have the high drama of a split second finish, but it did produce strong rides from Nicola Johnson, Diane Marleau, and Janice Kandestin. Johnson finished with a time of 59:06.4 to take the win. Marleau and Kandestin finished with times of 1:00:12.0 and 1:01:17.8, respectively.

In Vancouver, Brian Griffin took the top spot with a time of 53:31.0 and Brian Kuchinka and Charles Nelson rounded out the top three with 54:02.2 and 59:01.8 respectively.

With all 18 stages now completed and all of the points shelled out, all that is left is for the number crunching to see who comes out on top in the overall General classification. Expect some surprises once the best 14 of 18 races are taken to determine the overall winners. Results will be posted on www.peakcentrevancouver.ca.

RWR and the Peak Centre would once again like to take the time to thank all of the riders and the series’ sponsors, Easton, Pedal, and Maxxis. All are responsible for another successful season in the books. Riders who rode 10 or more stages are eligible for the draw for a set of Easton wheels. Stay tuned for the results!

Cheers,

Mike
